Faster, smarter, more precise: what meviy’s may 2026 releases mean for engineers?
You have the geometry. You have the material. You’ve specified the tolerance and chosen the surface finish. And then the platform tells you it can’t do it — not on Express, not in your market, not with that coating. Spring 2026 is the season meviy started systematically closing those gaps. Here’s what’s changed, and why it matters.
Trivalent Chromate Passivation using SurTec 650 is now available with full Automatic Quotation (AQ) support for turning parts.
This matters because of what AQ replaces. Manual Quotation (MQ) involves a human review step before an order is confirmed. That is appropriate for complex cases, but it adds time when you are working to a tight schedule. AQ removes that step entirely.
If you are designing a turned aluminium housing for test equipment, communication hardware, or aerospace assemblies, you can now specify Trivalent Chromate Passivation, receive an instant online CNC quote, and place the order without waiting for manual review.
The chemistry is worth understanding. SurTec 650 is a trivalent chromium-based chemical conversion coating — the RoHS and REACH-compliant alternative to traditional hexavalent chromate treatments such as Alodine or Chem Film. It delivers equivalent corrosion resistance and paint adhesion without the regulatory complications that hexavalent chromium creates under current EU directives.
For applications where electrical conductivity must be preserved — unlike anodising, this coating does not insulate the surface — it is frequently the only viable surface finish option.
Materials supported (turning parts): EN AW-2017, EN AW-5052, EN AW-5056, EN AW-6061, EN AW-7075 equiv.
AQ size range: Ø3–300 mm · L2–300 mm
MQ size range: Ø3–500 mm · L2–300 mm
Delivery options (AQ): Standard, Economy, Express
Stainless steel passivation for turning parts reaches automatic quotation — with a larger size range
Passivation for stainless steel turning parts has also moved to full AQ from May. The size expansion that came with the April MQ release deserves attention separately. The diameter range for AQ orders is now Ø300 mm. Under MQ, the length range has extended to 1,000 mm — a significant increase for engineers specifying parts for medical equipment, food processing machinery, chemical handling systems, or marine applications.
Stainless steel passivation removes free iron and surface contaminants that compromise the alloy’s native corrosion resistance. Ordering it through the platform rather than coordinating with a separate finishing supplier removes a procurement handover that typically adds days to a project timeline.
The AQ weight limit is 20 kg, with MQ covering up to 50 kg. If you are specifying heavier components, MQ is still available and includes expert review before the order is confirmed.

Express delivery is now available for M-SIM milling parts
M-SIM is meviy’s simulation-based quoting engine for complex milled geometries — parts that standard configurators cannot price automatically. It has been the right tool for difficult work. The limitation was that M-SIM orders could not be placed on Express delivery.
That constraint is removed from May. Complex machined parts priced through M-SIM can now be ordered on an expedited timeline using the same Express coefficient applied to standard milling orders. There is no separate pricing model for M-SIM Express orders.
For engineers managing prototyping iterations or sourcing production-critical replacement parts under time pressure, this closes a gap that previously forced a choice between getting the geometry right and getting the part quickly.
Delivery option: Express (Expedite)
Pricing: M-SIM price × standard Express coefficient
Express and Rapid delivery ranges expand significantly for milling parts
The materials and surface treatment combinations eligible for Express (-E) and Rapid (-R) delivery have expanded. The additions align the EU platform with the range already available in Japan.
Express (-E) additions include:
SCM440, SUS303, SUS304, and a range of engineering plastics — PEEK, PTFE, PP, PPS, PET — alongside surface treatments including Electroless Nickel Plating, Hard Chrome Plating (Flash), and Passivation.
Rapid (-R) additions include:
SS400, S45C, S50C, aluminium alloys A5052 and A2017, and technical plastics including POM, ABS, and UHMWPE, with Anodising variants and Trivalent Chromate surface finishes.
Delivery lead times are unchanged. This is a range expansion only — more combinations of material and finish are now accessible within the same timeframes as before.
IT6 fit tolerances now available for CNC milling part
Seven IT6-grade fit tolerances are now available as Manual Quotation options for milling parts.
The new tolerances are: N6, P6, G6, H6, F6, K6, and M6.
IT6 is the standard tolerance band for precision engineering. It covers interference fits for bearing housings, clearance fits for sliding components, and transition fits for located assemblies. Engineers in these markets who needed IT6 tolerances previously had to source externally or use workarounds. They can now specify them directly in the meviy platform and receive a manual quotation through the standard workflow.
This release is MQ-only. For tight-tolerance precision machining, that is the appropriate approach: expert review before a quote is confirmed reduces the risk of a non-conforming part reaching the production line.
New tolerances: N6, P6, G6, H6, F6, K6, M6 (IT6 grade)
Service: Manual Quotation (MQ)
Parts: Milling Parts
In summary
Five releases across April and May. Two surface treatments graduating from MQ to full AQ for Turning Parts. One platform capability unlocked for fast delivery. One product range expanded to match Japan. One tolerance grade brought to markets that needed it.
The connecting thread is convergence — markets aligning, services maturing, features catching up with the engineers who needed them. meviy in spring 2026 is a platform that is closing gaps methodically, practically, and usefully.
