What Are Wet Paints

Wet paints are a type of industrial paint that relies on organic solvents to carry the pigments, binders, and other components. These coatings are widely used due to their strong adhesion properties, making them ideal for surfaces that require a tough, durable finish, such as sheet metal. When applied, the solvent in the coating evaporates, leaving behind a hard, protective layer that resists corrosion, chemicals, and environmental damage. Solvent-based coatings are particularly effective in harsh industrial environments, including automotive and aerospace industries, where long-lasting protection is crucial.

Wet paints also offer flexibility in terms of application, as they can be used in various weather conditions and on surfaces that might not be perfectly clean, a flexibility that water-based coatings often lack. However, the use of organic solvents means they release volatile organic compounds (VOCs) during application and curing, which can pose environmental and health concerns. Despite this, their performance and protective qualities make them a go-to option in settings where the highest levels of durability and resistance are required.

Wet paints are often compared to powder coatings, but these two methods differ as shown in the table below:

Important Notes About the Painted Products

– There may be trace marks from hanging fixtures post-painting as shown in the picture

– Pre-treatment involves iron phosphate coating, and we perform rigorous inspections, including film thickness checks and grid tests, to ensure the quality and functionality of each component.
